NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3055" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3055" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
NOTE: This Revised Service Letter replaces the August 28, 1997 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Parts Needed and Action Required.

It is possible that the initial movement of the hoist lever will either not raise the body, nor actuate the body raised reverse neutralize control or, the body will continue to raise after the hoist lever is returned to the hold position. Other problems include speedometer flicker while the machine is stationary and invalid fault codes being logged. A new control module needs to be installed which will allow hoist lever movement to more closely match the response of the hoist lever with the mechanical system.

Action Required
Remove screws holding center console cover and pull center console cover to the side being carefull to not to pull any wires loose from the switches attatched to the console cover.
Remove 4 bolts holding the existing EPTC-II Control module into the rear of the console. Lift EPTC-II Control and disconnect harness connectors at the EPTC-II Control.
Remove mounting brackets from existing EPTC-II Control and reuse them on the new EPTC-II Control.
Install 146-5821 EPTC-II Control into console and replace cover on console.
Test truck for proper operation before returning to service.
