Product Support Program For Replacing The Shock Absorber On The Air Suspension Seat Damper That May Leak Oil On Certain 769D, 771D, 773D, 775D, 776D, 777D And 793D Trucks Caterpillar

NOTE: This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4024" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Termination Date

Problem

The shock absorber on the air suspension seat damper may leak oil and needs to be replaced on certain 769D, 771D, 773D, 775D, 776D, 777D and 793C Trucks. The air suspension shock absorber damper may leak oil around the seal or the damper may rotate 360 degrees. In either case the shock will loose its dampening affect and cause the operator to notice a stiff ride.

2 - 4V7884 Bearing

1 - 8Y6928 Fastener Kit

1 - 1285084 Shock Absorber

1 - 1285085 Knob Kit

Action Required

Install a new 1285084 Shock Absorber. Reference SENR6615-01 contour series seat service manual. Use Loctite 454 to install damper knob to shock absorber.
