Possible Problems With Fuel Filters
Usage:
1673C, 3306 Truck Engines
During the first half of 1977, some 1P2299 Fuel Filter Assemblies were made with a filter paper which causes too much restriction. No damage is done to the engine but there is soon a reduction in fuel to the engine. If you learn of any problems like this where the problem is fixed by installing a new element, inspect the used element and send a report with an explanation of the problem to Caterpillar. Read the article on Page 1 in the August 24, 1977 Engine News for instructions.
