A Gasket Group Is Available To Give Improved Sealing For The Oil Supply To The Rocker Arms On Early Engines

Usage:

3408 Engines (67U106-224),
(99U539-583),
(28V257-436),
(48W417-948)

Description of Change: The above engines use the cylinder head bolts as an oil supply passage for lubrication of the rocker shafts. To keep lubricating oil out of the cooling system, a 7N9013 Gasket Group is available to give a better seal to the lubricating oil passage between the cylinder block and the cylinder head.

The new gasket group has steel sleeve seals which are Teflon coated. These seals are used in the bolt holes in the spacer plate. The seals extend through both the spacer plate gasket and the head gasket to give a positive seal between the cylinder block and head.

To install the new gasket group, four holes in the original spacer plate must be made larger or you can use a new spacer plate which has the larger holes.

Adaptable To: The new parts, used together, will fit all 3408 Engines which use the head bolt holes for oil supply to the rocker shaft. Identification of these engines can also be made by the part number 4N351 on each cylinder head.
