New Left Side Mirror And Door Seal Available{7319,7308,7300}

769C, 773B, 777, 777B, 785 Trucks;

Description of Change: A new left side mirror and new door seal are available for the above machines. The left side mirror will provide increased vision to the rear of the machine. The new door seal and repositioned door stops will decrease the chance for water leaks into the cab.

Adaptable To: The new left side mirror and new door seal are adaptable to the machines shown in Chart A.

To install the new door seal, 4.3 M (14 ft) of 8T4156 Seal and 5H2471 Cement are required. The components required to install the left side mirror are listed in Chart B.

Use the procedure that follows to install the new left side mirror and new door seal on the machines listed in Chart A.

1. Remove the vent window from the left door.

2. Remove the old door seal from the door. Remove the two hard rubber door stops from the top and bottom forward edge of the door.

3. Drill two holes in the outside of the top door channel as shown in Illustration 1.

4. Cut a slot in the top of the top door channel as shown in Illustration 1.

5. Put the 3G9190 Plate in position inside the top channel as shown in Illustration 2. The two threaded holes in the 3G9190 Plate must be in alignment with the two holes drilled in Step 3. The plate must be against the top of the channel.

6. Use E7018 Electrode or an equivalent to plug weld the 3G9190 Plate to the top of the channel (using the slot cut in Step 4) as shown in Illustration 2.

7. Drill two holes in the bottom of the door assembly as shown in Illustration 2.

8. Install one of the hard rubber door stops, removed in Step 2, in the new holes drilled in Step 7.

9. Install the new 8T4156 Seal on the door with 5H2471 Cement.

10. Install the vent window.

11. Use two L1351 Bolts and two 5M2894 Washers to install the 8W2378 Bracket Assembly on the left door top channel at the two holes drilled in Step 3.

12. Install the 5P6872 Mirror on the 8W2378 Bracket Assembly. See Illustration 3.

The machines shown in Chart C are already equipped with the new door seal and the 3G9190 Plate is already in position in the top left door channel. The components required to install the left side mirror on these machines are listed in Chart D.

Use the procedure that follows to install the left side mirror on the machines listed in Chart C.

1. Use two L1351 Bolts and two 5M2894 Washers to install the 8W2378 Bracket Assembly on the left door top channel.

2. Install the 5P6872 Mirror in the 8W2378 Bracket Assembly. See Illustration 3.
