Description of Change: A new, stronger carbody assembly and a new swivel guard group (an attachment) are used to improve the service life of the frame components on the above machines. The new carbody has been made stronger to provide additional support for the ring gear components and reduce fatigue cracking in the support channel welds and the upper plate.
Adaptable As: The new 6W7157 Carbody is a direct replacement for the former 3V9590 Carbody which is canceled. A new 6W6647 Swivel Guard Group (not serviced) is available for use with the new 6W7157 Carbody Assembly. The former 9V4745 Swivel Guard Group cannot be used with the new carbody. If a swivel guard group is needed, order the components shown in the chart.
