Description of Change: A new valve seat is used for the priority valve in the shift pressure valve group on the above machines. The new seat has the same 22.5° angle as the poppet valve. The new valve seat will give the poppet valve a longer service life and permit a constant priority valve pressure.
Adaptable As: The new 3T6307 Seat is a direct replacement for the former 6P6287 Seat, which is canceled. The new seat is in effect on the above machines with the serial numbers shown in the chart. It is Caterpillar's recommendation that a new 9P665 Valve (Poppet) be installed when the new seat is installed.
NOTE: If desired, a new 9P665 Valve can be lightly hand lapped (ground) into the new 3T6307 Seat before they are installed.
