New Gasket Used For End Cover On Inlet Manifold{1058}

Usage:

D353 Industrial And Marine Engines;
D9H Tractors;
594H Pipelayers

Description of Change: A new gasket is used for the cover on the end of the inlet manifold for the above models, except D9 Tractors equipped with a special gas starting arrangement. The new gasket is made of a rubber-asbestos material in comparison with the former gasket, which is made of asbestos with a metal cover. The new gasket is softer than the former gasket, and will give a better seal at lower cost. The former gasket permitted leakage of dirty air into the inlet manifold under some conditions.

Adaptable As: The new 5N9112 Manifold End Gasket can be installed as a direct replacement for the former 4H3376 Manifold End Gasket, except on D9 Tractors which are equipped with a special gas starting arrangement. On these tractors, the 4H3376 Gasket must be used because of the higher temperatures at the location of the gasket during operation of the gas starting engine.
