Silicone Lubricant Aids Installation Of Transformer Extension And Increases Life Of Extension O-Ring Seal{1409}

Usage:

G3508 (4WD, 2JF, 9TG),
G3512 (4KC, 5JD, 7NJ),
G3516 (3RC, 8LD, 4EK, 5PN) Engines

Location of the O-ring seal in the bottom of the transformer extension.

Caterpillar recommends applying a small amount of 5N-5561 [340 g (12 oz) tube] or 8T-9020 [6 mL (.20 fl oz) syringe] Silicone Lubricant to the inside diameter of the O-ring seal in the bottom of the transformer extension. (See the illustration for the location of the O-ring seal.) The lubricant will help prevent the this O-ring seal from rolling out of position when the extension is installed on the spark plug. The lubricant will also help prevent the O-ring seal from sticking to the spark plug after the extension has been installed for a long period of time. This will help ease the removal of the transformer extension from the spark plug.
