Marine Transmission Oil Pressure Sensor Location{3323}

Usage:

3176B (9WK) 3196 (2XR) Marine Engines

The marine transmission oil pressure sensor (3E-6114 Sensor Group) is an option for the 3176B and 3196 Marine Engines with ZF transmissions. The location on the transmission where the sensor is installed is important to the reliability of the sensor.

The transmission oil pressure sensor must NOT be Installed in the transmission. Pressure spikes could cause the sensor to fail.

The correct location for the sensor is on the oil inlet to the marine transmission oil cooler. The oil line from the transmission to the oil cooler acts as a damper to minimize the pressure spikes from the transmission. Mounted in this location, the sensor will be less likely to fail.

The 3E-6114 Sensor Group must be installed to provide input to electronic display systems.
