New Auxiliary Water Pump Group Used

Usage:

3408B And 3412 Spark-Ignited Industrial Engines

Description of Change: A new auxiliary water pump group is used on 3408B and 3412 Spark-Ignited Industrial Engines. The new auxiliary water pump has a redesigned mounting surface that eliminates the need for a spacer that was used with the former auxiliary water pump. The idler shaft on the new pump has a larger diameter than the idler shaft on the former pump. Also, the housing on the new pump is made of cast iron while the housing on the former pump was made of brass.

Adaptable To: The new 9Y1269 Auxiliary Water Pump Group is a direct replacement for the former 2W4771 Auxiliary Water Pump Group used on 3408B and 3412 Spark-Ignited Industrial Engines. The former 2W4771 Auxiliary Water Pump Group is canceled. The new 9Y1269 Auxiliary Water Pump Group is in effect with 3408B Spark-Ignited Industrial Engines 6NB550-Up and 3412 Spark-Ignited Industrial Engines 7DB344-Up. When a new 9Y1269 Auxiliary Water Pump Group is used to replace a former 2W4771 Auxiliary Water Pump Group used on 3408B Spark-Ignited Industrial Engines 6NB496 through 6NB549 or 3412 Spark-Ignited Industrial Engines 7DB317 through 7DB343, be sure the 9Y1299 Spacer is removed from the engine before the new pump is installed. The illustration shows the location of the former 9Y1299 Spacer. Special Instruction, SEHS8952, provides complete installation instructions for the 9Y1269 Auxiliary Water Pump Group.
