New Engine and Aftertreatment Software are Now Available for Certain 797F Off-Highway Truck Engines {1920, 7620} Caterpillar

The new software has several improvements and new features.

The following changes are now available for the products within the listed serial numbers.

The new software has the following improvements:

• Cat^® Electronic Technician (ET) Service Tool features the option to disable or enable the "Add Oil Level" sensor

• Improved fuel priming performance

• Throttle signal filter to reduce engine speed oscillation due to unstable throttle pedal inputs

• Improved engine response during certain transmission shifts

• Corrections to the low oil pressure event thresholds to prevent false event trips of low oil pressure

• 1684-12 Fuel Injection Pump : Failure diagnostic code support for new high-pressure fuel pumps

• Improved software logic for NOx sensors to avoid false trips of low DEF quality events

Note: The new engine software and aftertreatment software must be paired together as a set to ensure proper functionality of all features and improvements.

Table 1 contains the new and previous software part numbers for this change.

The new software is available in the form of a flashfile through the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS). A newer part number may be available. SIS web only displays the latest available flashfile.
