Introduction
The following procedure explains how to replace the glass of the right side window in the cab for all Next Generation Excavators.
Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.

Personal injury can result from improper handling of chemicals. Make sure you use all the necessary protective equipment required to do the job. Make sure that you read and understand all directions and hazards described on the labels and material safety data sheet of any chemical that is used. Observe all safety precautions recommended by the chemical manufacturer for handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals. |

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

Loctite 595 CL RTV 300ML is for glass to glass joints. Adhesive will be fully dry in 24 hours.
Loctite RTV Silicon Clear 300ML can only be used if the temperature is above
Sika 255 FC Adhesive (black), should be used when a slow cure time is needed. Adhesive will be fully dry in 4 to 6 hours at
Sika Tack-Plus Booster Adhesive (black), should be used when a faster cure time is required. Adhesive will be fully dry in 1 to 2 hours at
Sika Activator Primer must be used with Sika Tack-Plus Booster Adhesive.
Sika 206 G & P Primer should be used with Sika 255 FC, or withSika Tack-Plus Booster for glass that does not have a ceramic coating (fretting).
Sika 209 D should be used when you are bonding to a polycarbonate.
Sika Activator UH-2 LUM is used to clean and give improved adhesion on glass, ceramic-coated glass, the cut face of old polyurethane adhesive beads, polyurethane coated window glass, and paints.
Sika 295 UV is a polyurethane adhesive/sealant used to bond polycarbonate.
Installation Procedure
- Install the thermal bond (2) and spacers (1) on the glass of repairer part.
- Remove the right side window from the machine:
- Use utility knife (T2) to remove the bonding adhesive on the window.
- Use wire (T1) to remove any adhesive the knife cannot reach. Pull the wire from in and out of the cab.

Illustration 2 g06363343 - Remove the window by pushing from the rear of the machine. Once half way removed, pull from the front of the machine.
Note: Apply force to the window from inside and outside the cab.
- Remove any remaining adhesive from the cab, then clean.
- Install the new window on the machine:
- Apply the bonding adhesive to the thermal bond on the new window.

Illustration 3 g06363369 - Assemble the glass by sliding from the front of the cab to the rear.
- Crimp the glass by pushing from the outside and pulling from the inside.
- Let the bonding adhesive dry, refer to "Required Tools" section for approximate wait times.
- Apply the bonding adhesive to the thermal bond on the new window.
- Clean the area of any excess adhesive.
- Attach any films that were on the previous window. Replace with the same part number.
