Three Element Speed Switch Replaces Dual Element Speed Switch
Usage:
All Industrial, Marine, And Generator Set Engines Except 3500 Series
Description of Change: A new three element switch assembly is used in place of the former dual element switch assembly on all engine applications except 3500 Series Engines. The new switch has the following improvements:

- ... Three elements, instead of two, are used.
- ... There are four extra mounting holes.
- ... "Overspeed" does not show if the magnetic pickup is disconnected.
- ... The "crank terminate" contacts (terminals 10, 11, 12) remain actuated for two seconds after the engine stops.
- ... The switch is less affected by electrical noise, excessive voltage, and voltage spikes.
- ... Three elements, instead of two, are used.
Adaptable To: The new 7W2743 Switch Assembly can be used as a replacement for the former 5N8947 Switch Assembly which is canceled. Special Instruction SEHS8486 covers the installation of the new switch (terminals 2 through 12 have same function as on former switch).
