Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

Failure to purge the air from the jacket water heater lines can result in premature failure of the jacket water heaters. Vibration isolator degradation can lead to electrical component failure and wire chafing.

Solution

------ WARNING! ------

Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understood the instruction and warnings in the relevant Operation and Maintenance Manuals and relevant service literature. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Proper care is your responsibility.

  1. Before initial engine startup, and after engine service where engine coolant was drained, inspect the jacket water heater lines to ensure that the air has been purged.

  2. Ensure that both ball valves on the engine are in the open position, and that coolant is flowing through the lines. The jacket water heater lines may need to be cracked open to allow air to purge out successfully.

  3. Even if the jacket water heater is not actively being used, coolant should be introduced into the system and air bled out before running the engine.

  4. Inspect the 332-1133 Isolator Spring Kits (Rubber Mounts) for degradation and replace as necessary.
