Marine Engine and Genset Control Panel IIIB Caterpillar

Remote Panel Symptoms

Usage:

C9.3 C93
The following sections outline common symptoms associated with the remote panel.

Local Panel (DCU) Does Not Appear

Ensure the following if a remote panel is plugged in and the local panel (DCU) does not appear:

  1. If the remote panel is a new installation and no switch is installed, a crossover cable must be connected. The crossover cable must be connected from the remote panel to the Ethernet adapter of the local panel. This step refers to the optional Ethernet switch.

  2. When new remote panels are added to an existing installation, the customer must search under "Engine Connections" on the remote panel.

  3. If the panel used to appear but does not appear after a firmware update, the DCU was flashed before the remote panel. The remote panel must be flashed first.

  4. If some panels appear on the network for the remote panel but not all the panels, check "Engine Connections" on the remote panel. Ensure that the panels are not set to "Ignore".

Note: Refer to Programming Guide, LEBM0063, "Cat® A&P Controls Programming Guide" for further information.
