Usage:

SCR EH6
The safety section lists basic safety precautions. The section also identifies hazards, warning situations, and locations of warning signs used on the Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) system. Read and understand the basic precautions listed in the safety section before operating, performing inspection, maintenance, and repair on this product.


NOTICE

The entire Retrofit Selective Catalytic Reduction System (SCR) is hot when in operation. The temperature of the surface of the enclosure may exceed 250° C (482° F). Never attempt to service the Retrofit Selective Catalytic Reduction System (SCR) when the engine is operating. Always follow local or site-specific regulations when servicing the (SCR) system.

Extreme caution should be taken when walking on the top of the (SCR). Handrails or guards are not installed to prevent anyone from falling or tripping. Refer to local or site-specific requirements when preparing to climb on top of the (SCR) for servicing or repairs. The sensor mounting box, hatch covers, and wiring harness can be damaged if stepped on. The sensor mounting box, hatch covers, and wiring harness creates trip hazards.

This safety message is on the outside of the dosing cabinet door on the upper front, right corner. The safety message is also on the access hatches of the SCR reactor housing.

Do not operate or work on this product unless you have read and understand the instructions and warnings in the Operation and Maintenance Manual. Failure to follow the instructions or heed the warnings could result in injury or death. Contact any Caterpillar dealer for replacement manuals. Proper care is your responsibility.

An electrical shock hazard is present. An electrical shock can cause severe personal injury or death.

System power must be disconnected. Turn the engine control switch to the "OFF/RESET" position. Open the circuit breaker for the electrical power supply.
