Hood - Remove and Install - Right

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the right-hand hood to the fully open position.

  2. Attach a suitable lifting device to support right-hand hood (1). The weight of right-hand hood (1) is approximately 172 kg (380 lb)

  3. Remove snap ring (3). Remove retaining pin (2).

  4. Cut all cable straps securing harness assembly (4) to right-hand hood (1). Place harness assembly (4) out of the way.

  5. Disconnect gas spring assembly (5).

  6. Using the lifting device attached in Step 2, lower the right-hand hood to the closed position. Remove the lifting device.

  7. Remove bolts (6). Repeat process for opposite side of right-hand hood (1).

  8. Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to remove right-hand hood (1). The weight of right-hand hood (1) is approximately 172 kg (380 lb)

Installation Procedure

  1. Install right-hand hood (1) in the reverse order of removal.
