Start By:

  1. Remove the flexible exhaust pipe.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Remove shield (1).

  2. Loosen clamps (4) and clamps (3).

  3. Remove hose (2) and hose (5).

  28. Disconnect hose assemblies (31) and (32).

  30. Disconnect the coolant hose assembly and remove tee (36).

  31. Remove bolts (39), flange (37), and gasket (38).

  32. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to turbocharger assembly (34). The weight of turbocharger assembly (34) is approximately 246 kg (543 lb).

  33. Remove bolts (35) and turbo charger (34).

  34. Repeat Steps 30 through 33 to remove another turbocharger.


    NOTICE

    Clamp assemblies MUST only be used once. Discard all clamp assemblies after use.



    NOTICE

    Bellows assemblies MUST only be used once. Discard all bellows assemblies after use.

  35. Loosen clamps (45). Remove elbow (43) and bellows assembly (44).

  36. Loosen clamps (42). Remove elbow (40) and bellows assembly (41).

  37. Loosen clamps (50). Remove adapter (46) and bellows assembly (48).

  38. Loosen clamps (51). Remove adapter (47) and bellows assembly (49).
