NOTICE |
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |

- Drain the engine oil.
- Drain the coolant.

- Remove tube assembly (1) and tube (1) .
- Remove engine oil level gauge (2) .
- Remove tube assembly (3) .

- Remove bolts (6) and tube assembly (5).
- Remove engine oil level gauge (4) .

Note: Do not pry or gouge the sealing surface of the engine oil pan. Tap the engine oil pan with a rubber mallet in order to remove the engine oil pan.
- Remove brackets (7) .
- Attach Tooling (A) .
- Remove bolts (8) .
- Use/Attach a suitable lifting device to remove engine oil pan (9). The weight of engine oil pan (9) is approximately 26 kg (58 lb)

- Clean the mating surface of the engine oil pan and the cylinder block.

- Install oil pan gasket (10) on the engine block.
- Use Tooling (A) to place engine oil pan (9) on the engine block.
- Install bolts (8) finger tight.
- Tighten bolts (8) to a torque of 46 ± 5 N·m (34 ± 3 lb ft).

- Install brackets (7), bolts (11), and bolts (12) .
- Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 25 ± 3 N·m (217 ± 22 lb in)
- Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 46 ± 5 N·m (34 ± 3 lb ft)

- Install tube assembly (5). Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 25 ± 2 N·m (221 ± 18 lb in)
- Install engine oil level gauge (4) and tighten to a torque of 25 ± 3 N·m (221 ± 22 lb in).

- Install tube assembly (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 25 ± 2 N·m (221 ± 18 lb in)
- Install engine oil level gauge (2) and tighten to a torque of 25 ± 3 N·m (221 ± 22 lb in).
- Install tube assembly (1) and tube (1) .
- Fill the engine oil pan to the correct level that is indicated on the engine oil level gauge. For the proper procedure and engine oil to use, see the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct filling procedures.
- Fill the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual,, ""Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change"" for the correct filling procedures.
