FMI 19 - Data Error

MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 indicates that the autonomous truck has lost communication with the MineStar GeoServer.

Test Step 1. Run the "Gislane" Test

  1. Run the "Gislane" Test using "jmhWeb".

Expected Result:

The check of the connection confirms that the circuit is correct.

Results:

  • OK - The check of the connection confirms that the circuit is correct. The diagnostic code does not clear from the monitor screen or Cat® ET. Proceed to Test Step 2.

  • NOT OK - The connection test has failed. The failure may be the result of a site communications issue. Proceed to Test Step 2.

Test Step 2. CHECK IF MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 IS ACTIVE ON MULTIPLE TRUCKS

  1. Check if MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 is active on multiple trucks.

Expected Result:

MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 is not active on multiple machines.

Results:

  • NO - MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 is not active on multiple machines. Proceed to Test Step 3.

  • YES - MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 is active on some machines. If MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 is only active on some trucks, indicating a potential site communications issue. Proceed to Test Step 3.

  • YES - MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 is active on all machines. Proceed to Test Step 3.

Test Step 3. OPEN AN INTERNET BROWSER AND VERIFY THE URL LAUNCHES

  1. Obtain the GIS Server Map Service location address.

    Note: The GIS Server Map Service location is found within MineStar Supervisor and should be in the format "localhost:PortNumber", where "PortNumber" is the specific port number of the GIS Server.

  2. Open an internet browser and navigate to "localhost:PortNumber/geoserver/web", where "PortNumber" is the specific port number of the GIS Server.

Results:

  • YES - The GeoServer page launches.

    Repair: Check MineStar GeoServer settings and that antivirus software allows communications over GeoServer Port 7070 (Port is 7070 by default but could be different depending on what the port has been configured to. Contact the site network communications team and verify that there are no network issues that are blocking GeoServer Communications.

    STOP

  • NO - The GeoServer page does not launch.

    Repair: Contact Cat Product Support.

    STOP

Test Step 4. KEY CYCLE THE TRUCK (SOME DIAGNOSTICS MAY CLEAR WITH A SIMPLE KEY CYCLE).

  1. Turn the key switch and battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Allow for a proper shutdown.

  2. Turn the disconnect switch and the key switch to the ON position. Wait for 5 minutes.

Expected Result:

MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 is no longer active

Results:

  • NO - The MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 diagnostic code is no longer active.

    STOP

  • YES - The MID 039 CID 3710 FMI 19 diagnostic code is still active. Proceed to Test Step 5.

Test Step 5. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DIAGNOSTICS FOR AUTO ECMS

  1. Check for an active CID 3724 FMI 09, CID 3725 FMI 09, CID 3726 FMI 09, CID 3727 FMI 09, or CID 3728 FMI 09.

Expected Result:

CID 3724 FMI 09, CID 3725 FMI 09, CID 3726 FMI 09, CID 3727 FMI 09, or CID 3728 FMI 09 are not active.

Results:

  • NO - CID 3724 FMI 09, CID 3725 FMI 09, CID 3726 FMI 09, CID 3727 FMI 09, or CID 3728 FMI 09 are not active. Proceed to Test Step 6.

  • YES - CID 3724 FMI 09, CID 3725 FMI 09, CID 3726 FMI 09, CID 3727 FMI 09, or CID 3728 FMI 09 are active.

    Repair: Troubleshoot these diagnostics first. After troubleshooting the diagnostics, check the status of CID 3710 FMI 19 to verify that the problem has been corrected. If the problem has not been corrected, repeat this procedure.

    STOP

Test Step 6. CHECK FOR ANY OTHER CID 3710 DIAGNOSTICS.

  1. Check for an active CID 3710 FMI 02, CID 3710 FMI 09, or CID 3710 FMI 14.

Expected Result:

CID 3710 FMI 02, CID 3710 FMI 09, or CID 3710 FMI 14 are not active.

Results:

  • NO - CID 3710 FMI 02, CID 3710 FMI 09, or CID 3710 FMI 14 are not active. Proceed to Test Step 7.

  • YES - CID 3710 FMI 02, CID 3710 FMI 09, or CID 3710 FMI 14 are active.

    Repair: Troubleshoot these diagnostics first. After troubleshooting the diagnostics, check the status of CID 3710 FMI 19 to verify that the problem has been corrected. If the problem has not been corrected, repeat this procedure.

    STOP

Test Step 7. VERIFY THAT THE GEOSERVER PORT IS CORRECTLY CONFIGURED

  1. Connect the OCS laptop to the truck.

  2. Open the GeoServer settings window.

    • Open the GeoServer launcher

    • Click "Configuration"

    • File > Import > "Save Config from Truck..."

    • Then create a new directory

  3. Verify the GeoServer settings are correctly configured

    Note: Refer to Special Instructions, REHS7346, "Cat® Command for Hauling - 793F CMD Onboard Autonomy and Configuration Guide", "Appendix C: Entering Site Specific Configuration Parameters" for the procedure to set the GeoServer settings correctly.

Expected Result:

The GeoServer settings are correctly configured.

Results:

  • YES - The GeoServer settings are correctly configured. Proceed to Test Step 8.

  • NO - The GeoServer settings are not correct.

    Repair: Correct the GeoServer settings. Refer to Special Instructions, REHS7346, "Cat® Command for Hauling - 793F CMD Onboard Autonomy and Configuration Guide", "Appendix C: Entering Site Specific Configuration Parameters" for the procedure to set the GeoServer settings correctly. Key cycle the truck. Check the status of CID 3719 FMI 19 to verify that the problem has been corrected. If the problem has not been corrected, repeat this procedure.

    STOP

Test Step 8. VERIFY ROUTER HAS CORRECT SOFTWARE

  1. Connect laptop to on-board network.

  2. Configure laptop with static IP address

  3. Open web browser and navigate to the IP address of the router.

  4. Verify that software part number is correct.

Expected Result:

The software part number is correct.

Results:

  • YES - The router has the correct software. Proceed to Test Step 9.

  • NO - The router has incorrect software.

    Repair: Reflash the router with the correct software, reference the "A5N2 Router Setup & Config Guide".

    Ensure that the router is correctly configured for the specific machine.

    Proceed to Test Step 9.

Test Step 9. VERIFY ROUTER IS CONFIGURED CORRECTLY

  1. Click on "Layer 3 Config & Routing".

  2. Use the "A5N2 Router Setup & Config Guide" to verify that settings are correct.

Expected Result:

The router settings are correct.

Results:

  • YES - The router settings are correct. Proceed to Test Step 10.

  • NO - The router settings are incorrect.

    Repair: Correct the router settings.

    Proceed to Test Step 10.

Test Step 10. VERIFY RADIO IS CONFIGURED CORRECTLY

  1. Contact site network team to verify that the radio is configured correctly and is working as expected.

Expected Result:

Radio is configured correctly and working as expected.

Results:

  • YES - The radio settings are correct. Proceed to Test Step 11.

  • NO - The radio settings are incorrect.

    Repair: Correct the radio settings.

    STOP

Test Step 11. REPLACE ROUTER WITH KNOWN WORKING ROUTER

  1. Replace the router with a known working router.

    Note: Ensure that the router is correctly configured for the specific machine.

Expected Result:

Replacing the router clears the diagnostic.

Results:

  • NO - Diagnostic does not clear. If diagnostic code is still active after replacing the router, Proceed to Test Step 12.

  • YES - Replacing the router clears the diagnostic.

    STOP

Test Step 12. REPLACE RADIO WITH KNOWN GOOD RADIO

  1. Replace the radio with a known working radio.

    Note: Ensure that the radio is correctly configured for the specific machine.

Expected Result:

Replacing the radio clears the diagnostic.

Results:

  • YES - Replacing the radio clears the diagnostic.

    STOP

  • NO - Diagnostic does not clear.

    Repair: Contact Cat® Product Support.

    STOP
