Incorrect Announcement of Battery Overcharged On Certain C4.4 and C6.6 Generator Set{4490, 751B}

Usage:

C4.4 LC4
Electric Power Generation:
C4.4 GEN SET (S/N: LC41-UP; LC51-UP)
C6.6 GEN SET (S/N: LC61-UP)

Introduction

The problem that is identified below does have a known permanent solution. Use the solution detailed below to correct the issue.

Problem

The EMCP 4 control panel on certain C4.4 and C6.6 powered Generating sets, may incorrectly annunciate instances of overcharging by the battery charger.

Solution

The EMCP 4 setpoints for high battery volts are set too low (15Vdc) for the battery and battery charging system. The C4.4 and C6.6 range of generating sets are shipped with CA/CA batteries, which have a boost charging voltage of 15.6Vdc. If there are instances of high battery volts alarms, adjust the EMCP high battery volts alarm to 16Vdc. If a generating set is shipped without a battery, dealers are to confirm battery type matches charger setpoints.
