Engine Oil Filter Base - Remove and Install
- Drain the engine oil and filter.
- Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the proper draining and filling procedures.
- Disconnect hose assembly (1).

- Remove bolts (2) and bolts (5). Remove oil filter base (4) and the O-ring seals.

Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
- Remove plug (9), spring (8), and plunger (7) from oil filter base (4).

- Remove plug (12), spring assembly (11), and valve (10) from oil filter base (4).

Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
- Remove bolt (17), seat (16), spring (15), retainer (14), and spacer (13) from oil filter base (4).

- Install oil filter base (4) in the reverse order of removal.
- Tighten plug (12) to a torque of
100 ± 15 N·m (74 ± 11 lb ft) . - Tighten plug (9) to a torque of
100 ± 15 N·m (74 ± 11 lb ft) .
