Air Inlet Elbow - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove the solenoid valve (exhaust balance).

  1. Open door (1).

  2. Disconnect the harness assembly from temperature sensor (3). Remove temperature sensor (3).

  3. Remove hose assembly (9) and the fittings.

  4. Loosen clamps (4) and remove hose (6).

  5. Loosen clamp (2) and clamp (5).

  6. Remove hose (7) and air inlet elbow (8).

  7. Disconnect the harness assembly from pressure sensor (10). Remove pressure sensor (10).

  8. Remove O-ring seal (11) and remove air inlet manifold (12). Remove and discard the gasket from air inlet manifold (12).

  9. Remove bolts (14) and remove tube (13) and the O-ring seal.

  10. Remove pin spring (15) and dowel (17).

  11. Remove tube (16) and the wave ring.

  12. Remove plug (18).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install air inlet elbow (12) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to plug (18).

    2. Install pin spring (15) to the depth illustrated by Dimension (B). Dimension (B) is 6.0 ± 0.50 mm (0.20 ± 0.020 inch).

    3. Install dowel (17) to the depth illustrated by Dimension (C). Dimension (C) is 2.9 mm (0.11 inch).

    4. Tighten pressure sensor (10) to a torque of 10 ± 2 N·m (89 ± 18 lb in).

    5. Tighten temperature sensor (3) to a torque of 20 ± 3 N·m (177 ± 27 lb in).

    6. Tighten clamp (2) to a torque of 8.5 ± 2 N·m (75 ± 18 lb in).
