Exhaust Manifold

Usage:

Use the following procedure to tighten the bolts for the exhaust manifold:

  1. Install the two locating studs to the top holes.

  1. Install the gasket onto the studs then install the exhaust manifold.

  1. Use six M10 X 110 bolts, four M10 X 140 bolts and two M10 X 150 bolts. Hand tighten the bolts and remove the locating studs.

  1. Install the remaining four M8 X 140 and hand tighten the bolts.

  1. Tighten bolt 1 through bolt 12 in the numerical sequence as shown in the Illustration 1 to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  1. Again, tighten bolt 1 through bolt 12 in the numerical sequence as shown in the Illustration 1 to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  1. Tighten bolt 13 through bolt 16 in the numerical sequence as shown in the Illustration 1 to 28 N·m (250 lb in).

  1. Again, tighten bolt 13 through bolt 16 in the numerical sequence as shown in the Illustration 1 to 28 N·m (250 lb in).

  1. Check all 16 bolts for torque.

(1) Tighten the plug to the following torque ... 20 N·m (177 lb in)

(2) During assembly, the adaptor should be positioned parallel to the exhaust manifold as shown in the Illustration.
