Alternator - Inspect
Caterpillar preporučuje provjeru alternatora prema rasporedu održavanja. Provjerite ima li na alternatoru otpuštenih priključaka i puni li akumulator ispravno. Pratite ampermetar (ako je komplet generatora tako opremljen) tijekom rada motora kako biste osigurali pravilne performanse akumulatora i/ili pravilne performanse električnog sustava. Po potrebi izvršite popravke.
Provjerite rade li ispravno alternator i punjač akumulatora. Ako su akumulatori propisno napunjeni, očitanje ampermetra treba biti u blizini nule. Svi akumulatori moraju uvijek biti napunjeni. Akumulatore treba održavati toplima jer temperatura utječe na snagu akumulatora za pokretanje motora. Ako je akumulator prehladan, neće moći pokrenuti motor.
Kada motor ne radi tijekom duljih vremenskih razdoblja ili radi samo nakratko, akumulatori se možda neće do kraja napuniti. Nedostatno napunjen akumulator brže će se zamrznuti od potpuno napunjenog akumulatora.
