| 5576-2 Aftertreatment #1 Identification : Erratic, Intermittent, or Incorrect | The Aftertreatment Identification Module is not installed. If the engine is not currently running, the engine will not restart. If, the engine is running the engine will shut down within 60 seconds. |
| 5576-8 Aftertreatment #1 Identification : Abnormal Frequency, Pulse Width, or Period | The installed Aftertreatment Identification Module is not a match to the engine. |

1. Check for Diagnostic Trouble Codes A. Establish communication between Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) and the Electronic Control Module (ECM). Refer to Troubleshooting, "Electronic Service Tools", if necessary. |
