Pressure Sensor (Diesel Exhaust Fluid) - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


  1. Turn off the diesel exhaust fluid supply to the dosing cabinet.

  2. Turn off the power supply to the dosing cabinet.

  3. Wait 30 seconds, then turn off the air supply to the dosing cabinet.

  4. Remove top panel (1).

  5. Disconnect harness assembly (2).

  6. Remove pressure sensor (3).

  7. Remove O-ring seal (4).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install pressure sensor (3) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten pressure sensor (3) to a torque of 20 ± 3 N·m (177 ± 27 lb in).
