    415-4615 Ferrite Bead

A Ferrite bead is used on the Voltage Regulator Harnessing for Gensets that have a PL421. The 415-4615 Ferrite Bead (shown in illustration 1) shall be placed as close to the voltage regulator as possible. For the CDVR (314-7755 Voltage Regulator As or 235-5725 Voltage Regulator As ) four ferrite beads are needed. One bead for each of the 6-pin and 9-pin harnesses and then two beads for the 12-pin harness (split the harness into two 6-wire harnesses). For the R450 (352-6019 Voltage Regulator single-phase and 352-5636 Voltage Regulator three-phase) one ferrite bead is needed. Refer to the above reference for installation procedure for Product Link PL421 Retrofit.

Relay along with harness changes is used on Gensets with PL421

A relay along with harness changes is now used on Gensets with PL421 to avoid draining the Genset package batteries when the main disconnect is switched OFF. The +Battery wire of the PL421 harness needs to connect to the +Battery terminal of the battery or battery charger. The -Battery wire of the PL421 harness needs to connect to the -Battery terminal of the battery or battery charger. The keyswitch wire of the PL421 harness needs to connect to the relay (12V 115-1615 Relay As / 24V 3E-5239 Relay As ) shown in Illustration 2 using the 9X-1043 Bracket , the 9X-1055 Receptacle Terminal, and the 9X-1056 Receptacle Terminal .

See Table 1 for connections to relay for each specific Genset package.
