Description of Change: Upgrade to higher capacity generator cooling fan, for 145-7673 Main Stator Gp, to achieve approximately 8 degrees C stator temperature rise improvement. Be aware that the generator is de-coupled from the engine to perform this improvement. Consideration should be given to upgrading to the higher capacity cooling fan when completing a drive-end generator bearing replacement. If excessive high stator temperatures exist consistently over the operational life, weakened stator insulation could result, and eventual short circuit of stator windings.
Adaptable To: The new higher capacity cooling fan 386-1354 Fan serves as direct replacement to the former 7E-3087 Fan, in providing a greater level of cooling than the former fan. The new design fan is effective in production for machines that are listed in the Table 1:
