Improved 9W1077 Start Switch Assembly And 7N4160 Heat Start Switch Group

Usage:

Description of Change: The start switch assembly and heat start switch group have been improved. Also, a new washer, an improved instruction plate and increased mounting torque are used. The components and assembly procedure may improve the service life and reliability of the switches.

Adaptable To: The part numbers of the improved 9W1077 077 Start Switch Assembly and 7N4160 Heat Start Switch Group have not changed. The improved switches start with Date Code (K06) (K = Year, 06 = Week) and later. The new 7M0327 Washer (2), part of the switches, replaces the former 6F0253 Washer.

Use the improved 8J4785 Instruction Plate with the 9W1077 Start Switch Assembly and the 1M3363 Instruction Plate with the 7N4160 Heat Start Switch Group at assembly. The improved instruction plates are all aluminum; there is no plastic coating over the aluminum.

When the switch is installed, tighten 8C6808 Nut (1) to a torque of 22 ± 2 N·m (16 ± 1 lb ft). This tightening torque is very important especially in high vibration applications like generator sets.

Typical example of improved switch.
