3306, 3306B Truck Engines
Description of Change: A new camshaft, with higher carbides, is now used. The higher carbides provide more resistance to spalling, pitting and wear. The follower did not change.
Adaptable To: The new 7E9980 Camshaft is a direct replacement for the former 7C3863 Camshaft. The new camshaft is effective with engine serial numbers 08Z57268, 1 3Z23027, 63Z19144, 64Z9679, 84Z1806, 806, 85Z6799, 7JB4776, 2AJ371, 5KD2476. The new camshaft is serviced only in a kit. The new 4P2942 Cam Kit replaces the former 9Y1722 Cam Kit and includes the 7S3161 Valve Lifter and 8T2998 Lubricant.
