Button Panel - Test

Usage:

NOTICE

This test should be performed with the propulsion engine NOT running to prevent unexpected vessel movement during the test.


Station Active and LED

  1. Turn Keyswitch to the ON position for both engines. DO NOT start the engines.

  2. Place both handles in the IDLE/NEUTRAL position.

  3. Perform the Lamp Test.

    1. When the station is not active, press and hold the "SVM", "SYNC", and "N" (gear lockout) buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds. This will cause the lamps to flash at a rate of 1Hz (0.5 second ON, 0.5 second OFF). Pressing any button will cause the lamp test to stop, and all lamps to turn OFF.

  4. Connect a computer with Cat ET to the J1939 service connector.

  5. Start Cat ET and connect to the Power Train Control.

  6. Select the Status Icon

  7. Select "Status Group #2".

  8. While monitoring the value for Station Active Button Status in Cat ET, Press and hold the "STATION ACTIVE" button on the button panel.

  9. The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.

  10. Release the "STATION ACTIVE" button on the button panel.

  11. The value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.

  12. The Station Active LED on the button panel should be ON.

  13. The Station Active Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.

Troll

Note: Perform this test if the optional Electronic Troll Processors (ETP) are installed.

  1. With the Station Active LED lit for the button panel under test, Select "Status Group #3" in Cat ET.

  2. While monitoring the value for Troll Button Status in Cat ET, press and hold the "TROLL" button on the button panel.

  3. The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.

  4. Release the "TROLL" button on the button Panel.

  5. The Value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.

  6. The Troll LED on the button panel should be ON.

  7. The Troll Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.

  8. Press and release the "TROLL" button.

  9. The Troll LED on the button panel should be OFF.

  10. The Troll Lamp Status in Cat ET should be OFF.

SYNC

  1. With the Station Active LED lit for the button panel under test, Select "Status Group #3" in Cat ET.

  2. While monitoring the value for Sync Button Status in Cat ET, press and hold the "SYNC" button on the button panel.

  3. The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.

  4. Release the "SYNC" button on the button Panel.

  5. The value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.

  6. The Sync LED on the button panel should be ON.

  7. The Sync Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.

  8. Press and release the "SYNC" button.

  9. The Sync LED on the button panel should be OFF.

  10. The Sync Lamp Status in Cat ET should be OFF.

SVM

  1. With the Station Active LED lit for the button panel under test, Select "Status Group #3" in Cat ET.

  2. While monitoring the value for Slow Vessel Mode Button Status in Cat ET, press and hold the "SVM" button on the button panel.

  3. The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.

  4. Release the "SVM" button on the button panel.

  5. The value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.

  6. The SVM LED on the button panel should be ON.

  7. The Slow Vessel Mode Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.

  8. Press and release the "SVM" button.

  9. The SVM LED on the button panel should be OFF.

  10. The Slow Vessel Mode Lamp Status in Cat ET should be OFF.

N (Gear Lockout)

  1. With the Station Active LED lit for the button panel under test, Select "Status Group #1" in Cat ET.

  2. While monitoring the value for Gear Lockout Button Status in Cat ET, press and hold the "N" button on the button panel.

  3. The value should change from OFF to ON while the button is being pressed.

  4. Release the "N" button on the button panel.

  5. The value should change from ON to OFF when the button is released.

  6. The N LED on the button panel should be ON.

  7. The Gear Lockout Lamp Status in Cat ET should be ON.

  8. Press and release the "N" button.

  9. The N LED on the button panel should be OFF.

  10. The Gear Lockout Lamp Status in Cat ET should be OFF.
