Usage:
3406B (4MG, 8TC) Truck Engines
Description of Change: Several new components are used in the water lines groups used on 3406B Truck Engines. The new components include the water pump cover, regulator housing cover, manifold housing, hose, and clamps. The new covers and housing are made from aluminum. The new components will provide improved coolant flow, serviceability and reliability.
Adaptable As: The new 9Y2585 Water Pump Cover, 9Y2586 Regulator Housing Cover, 9Y2587 Manifold Housing, 8T4983 Clamps (earlier engines have 8T6703 Clamps), and 9Y4104 Hose (some earlier engines have 5P763 Hose) are used in the water lines groups used on 3406B Truck Engines. The new covers and housing are in effect with 3406B Truck Engines 4MG15702 and 8TC2573. The new components are shown in the illustration. Tighten the new 8T4983 Clamp to a torque of 7.3 N ·m (65 lb in).
