Description of Change: P Frame breakers and R Frame breakers can now be used to replace CK and CM Frame breakers.

Adaptable To: P Frame breakers replace the CK Frame breakers. Individual CK Frame breaker attachment (such as trip unit, aux switch, and shunt trip) failures can only be repaired by replacing the entire breaker. Refer to the Special Instruction, REHS5706 that provides details on the modifications necessary to install the P Frame breaker. Refer to the table 1 to 4 for more information.

R Frame breakers replace the CM Frame breakers. Individual CM Frame breaker attachment (such as trip unit, aux switch, and shunt trip) failures can only be repaired by replacing the entire breaker. The parts system will provide the replacement part information including required additional hardware. Refer to the table 5 to 7 for more information.

Note: With the CM circuit breaker installations, some of the original mounting hardware can be used, so take a good look at the existing hardware before ordering the parts.After replacing the circuit breakers, review the circuit breaker coordination study to identify any settings that may need to be changed. An obvious example is setting the correct current limit on the circuit breaker.
