New Commissioning Instructions Now Used to Ensure Correct Voltage Applied to Contactor on 3406C, C15, C18, and C9 Gen Sets {1435, 7332, 7400}

Usage:

C15 C5E
Generator Set:
3406C GEN SET (S/N: C5G1-UP)
C15 GEN SET (S/N: C5E1-UP; C5H1-UP)
C18 GEN SET (S/N: STM1-UP; EKW1-UP)
C9 GEN SET (S/N: C9E1-UP)

Description of Change: The clarified commissioning instructions listed below are to ensure that the contactor is supplied with the correct voltage. The new commissioning instructions eliminate the failure of the contactor due to either an over or under voltage condition.

  • If the unit is wired with fuses then the input voltage must be 240 V Line to Neutral (2-wire). This is typically in 50 Hz regions.

  • If the unit has circuit breakers then the input voltage must be wired to 240 V Line to Line (3-wire). Typically 60 Hz North America.

  • Production changed to 24 VDC control scheme eliminating the opportunity for incorrect selection of voltage options.

Adaptable To: The contactor part number is listed in Table 1.
