Usage:
3600 Family Of Engines
Description of Change: A new collar and bolt are used on the cross shaft in the governor control housing in the fuel injection control groups used on the 3600 Family of Engines. The new collar and bolt are used to control the end play of the cross shaft in the governor control housing. See the illustration. Excessive end play of the cross shaft in the governor control housing can cause wear on the cross shaft and bearings and result in inconsistent fuel settings. The new collar and bolt will allow more consistent fuel settings and reduce wear on the cross shaft and bearings.
Location of new collar and bolt on typical cross shaft in governor control housing.
Adaptable To: The new 7E4392 Collar and 217941 Bolt are direct replacements for the former 9Y0560 Lever, 3V3308 Washer, and S1571 Bolt in the 1W0821, 1W0854, 1W0892, and 1W0923 Fuel Injection Control Groups used on the 3600 Family of Engines. The new collar and bolt are adaptable to all earlier engines. Position the new collar on the cross shaft so that the end play of the cross shaft in the governor control housing is limited to 0.30 ± 0.20 mm (.010 ± .008").
