Low Gear Limits May Be Ignored On 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines{1705,1707}

Usage:

A recent update to the personality module on 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines has caused some confusion in the field when operating the truck in the low gears. Under light load or no load conditions, a PEEC engine will ignore Customer Specified Parameters, Low Gear No. 1 and Low Gear No. 2.

This change applies to 3406B (PEEC) Truck Engines 8TC6561-Up and any other engines that are equipped with any of the following 1989 Personality Modules.

Part numbers of 1989 Personality Modules: 0R6019, 0R6020, 0R6014, 9X3107, 0R6013, 9X3110, 0R6010, 9X3119, 0R6012, 9X3114, 0R6011, 9X3117, 0R6016, 9C3103, 0R6015, 9X3104, 0R5994, 7X6350, 0R592, 7X6331.

When the rack is less than 5 mm, PEEC assumes the truck is out of gear and allows Top Engine Limit to be obtained without limiting acceleration. This condition is frequently met when operating with either a light load or no load. Such operation is normal.
