UPSB130 Uninterruptible Power Supply Caterpillar

Auxiliary Connection

Usage:

UPSB 130 XTC

------ WARNING! ------

Ensure sufficient isolation of power, control, and communication cables. Run the communication cables separately from the power cables. Reinforce the insulation of the control and communication cables if any risk of contact with the power cables exists. Running the cables together may cause unintentional contact with live power cables resulting in serious personal injury or death.

----------------------

Note: To ensure sufficient isolation of the exchange-current, CAN, and external bypass cabinet cables, install all cables separately from the power cables.

Protective Cover for the Auxiliary Interconnection Cables

Fitting the protection cover for the auxiliary interconnection cables

A cover is supplied with UPS systems that are connected in parallel to protect the user against direct contact with voltages other than Safety Extra Low Voltage (SELV). This cover also ensures that the auxiliary interconnection cables maintain the correct position within the cabinet.

(21) CAN // Interconnections

  1. Link the "XMS02" and "XMS03" exchange current interconnections (19) on the two UPS systems.

  1. Install a blue plug to the "XMS06" CAN connector (21a) on UPS 1.

  1. Link the "XMS07" connector on UPS 1 to the "XMS06" connector on UPS 2.

  1. Install a red plug on connector "XMS07" (21b) on UPS 2.

Note: The 10 m (33 ft) cables that are supplied limit the distance between the two UPS systems to approximately 6 m (20 ft).

(20) Interconnections with the external bypass cabinet

  1. Interconnect terminals 7, 8, 9, and 10 on "TB2" in the cabinet to terminal blocks "XMS04" and "XMS05" pins 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively.

  1. Create a loop between the cabinet and the UPS Systems. Refer to Illustration 3.

Note: The interconnection cables for the SBC are not supplied.

  1. By using the "XMS02" and "XMS03" exchange-current connectors (19), create a loop between the UPS systems. All of the "XMS02" and "XMS03" connectors must be used.

  1. Install a blue plug to connector "XM06" (21a) of the UPS 1.

  1. Connect the UPS systems in series to each other by connecting the remaining "XMS06" and "XMS07" CAN connectors (21) .

Note: The cables that are supplied are 10 m (33 ft).

  1. Install a red plug to connector "XM07" (21b) of the last UPS in the system.
