The Packaging Consist of the C9 Genset Has Been Changed {1000, 1021, 7002}

Usage:

C9 C9E
Generator Set:
C9 GEN SET (S/N: C9E1-UP)

Caterpillar announces a change to the packaging consist of C9 gensets with ACERT technology. The change covers C9 gensets with a standby rating of 200 ekW to 300 ekW and a prime rating of 180 ekW to 275 ekW.

The change of the packaging consist is a change of material. This change removes the air inlet heater and the fuel pressure gauge from the standard packaging consist. The changes do not have any negative impact on the overall performance of the genset. The C9 genset will meet the requirement for starting with an ambient temperature of −20° C (−4° F). The genset will meet this requirement without the use of the air inlet heater if the genset is equipped with a jacket water heater or an engine block heater. The fuel pressure gauge was removed in order to ensure that the C9 engine arrangement will be consistent with the C15 engine arrangement and C18 engine arrangement. The Electronic Control Module (ECM) uses an electric pressure gauge to annunciate low fuel pressure.

The on-line C9 package price list was updated on April 2009 in order to reflect these changes. The changes are effective for C9 gensets that are ordered from the C9 package price list with an order Start-On-Line date that begins 1May 2009.

Note: The air inlet heater and the fuel pressure gauge are not short shipped items.
