Performing a Test Regeneration on Motor Coach Industries (MCI) Buses {1901, 1920}

The regeneration inhibit switch on Motor Coach Industries (MCI) buses is controlled by a separate Electronic Control Module (ECM). This ECM will not allow a service test regeneration to be performed without the presence of vehicle speed.
The technician must use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) in order to configure the "ARD Inhibit Switch" parameter from "J1939" to "None". After the parameter has been changed the service test regeneration can be performed.
Note: It is critical to reset the "ARD Inhibit Switch" back to "J1939" when the test has been completed.
