- C-16 (S/N: 7CZ1-UP)
Remanufactured Injectors that are used in the engines that are listed above experienced rough low idle. The rough low idle was caused by incorrect valve opening pressure. Incorrect valve opening pressure caused the injector to deliver the fuel too late in the power stroke. The engine runs rough under the following conditions:
- The engine has reached operating temperature.
- Idling between 700 and 1000 rpm
- No load condition
Refer to Table 1 in order to determine the injectors that are affected.
Part Numbers for the Fuel Injectors     | |
10R-2780     | Fuel Injector Gp     |
10R-2781     | Fuel Injector Gp     |
10R-0957     | Fuel Injector Gp     |
10R-0958     | Fuel Injector Gp     |
Not all injectors below the serial number break in Table 2 have exhibited low idle instability. Many of the injectors that were built before the serial number break work properly.

Injector Serial Number     | Part Number of the Injector     |

The Dealer Solution Network (DSN) can be contacted in order to help identify the problem. Only replace a faulty injector with a new injector that has a serial number which is higher than the serial numbers that are listed in Table 2.
Note: Injectors that pass Caterpillar performance tests will be returned to the dealer if the injectors were replaced without consulting the factory or the DSN.
