- Install tools (B) and (C) with elbow (1) by using flanges (3) with tools (D) .
- Assemble tool (G) to tool (B) for elbow (1) by using tools (E) and (F) .
Note: Use tool (G) to monitor the pressure setting of the relief valve for reverse travel of the left travel motor.
- Remove bolts (4) and flanges (3) for elbow (2) .
- Install tools (B) and (C) with elbow (2) by using flanges (3) with tools (D) .
- Assemble tool (G) to tool (B) for elbow (2) by using tools (E) and (F) .
Note: Use tool (G) to monitor the pressure setting of the relief valve for forward travel of the left travel motor.
- Connect tool (A) with tools (K), tool (J), tool (I), and tool (H). Use pressure gauge (A) and coupler (H) to monitor the relief valve pressure setting of the left travel motor for forward travel and reverse travel.
- Connect tool (H) to tool (G) on elbow (2) in order to monitor the relief valve pressure setting for forward travel of the left travel motor.
- Place a track block (6) in sprocket (5) in order to block forward left travel. Refer to Illustration 2.

- Start the engine.
- Place the machine controls at the following settings: engine speed dial "10" and AEC switch OFF.
- Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).
- Slowly move the left travel control lever to full FORWARD position and check the pressure gauge reading at elbow (2). The pressure setting of relief valve (9) should be 33000 kPa (4800 psi).

- Return the left travel control lever to the NEUTRAL position.
- In order to adjust relief valve (9), loosen locknut (7) and turn adjustment screw (8) until the pressure gauge reading at elbow (2) is 33000 kPa (4800 psi).
Note: Turn adjustment screw (8) clockwise in order to increase the pressure. Turn adjustment screw (8) counterclockwise in order to decrease the pressure.
Note: Always make final pressure adjustment on pressure rise.
- Tighten locknut (7) .
- Connect tool (H) to tool (G) on elbow (1) in order to monitor the relief valve pressure setting for reverse travel of the left travel motor.
- Place track block assembly (6) in sprocket (5) in order to block reverse left travel.
- Slowly move the left travel control lever to full REVERSE position and check the pressure gauge reading at elbow (1). The pressure setting of relief valve (10) should be 33000 kPa (4800 psi).
- Return the left travel control lever to the NEUTRAL position.
- In order to adjust relief valve (10), loosen locknut (11) and turn adjustment screw (12) until the pressure gauge reading at elbow (1) is 33000 kPa (4800 psi).
Note: Turn adjustment screw (12) clockwise in order to increase the pressure. Turn adjustment screw (12) counterclockwise in order to decrease the pressure.
Note: Always make final pressure adjustment on pressure rise.
- Tighten locknut (11) .
- Stop the engine.
- Remove the pressure gauge and test fittings from elbow (1). Remove the test fittings from elbow (2) .
Note: In order to adjust the relief valves on the right travel motor, place stopper (6) in the sprocket for right travel. Use the pressure gauge and test fittings in order to monitor the relief valve pressure settings for the right travel motor. Adjust the relief valves on the right travel motor in the same manner as the adjustment for the left travel motor.
