Tightening sequence for flange of the turbocharger

Use the following procedure to tighten the flange of the turbocharger:

Note: Apply 4C-5599 Anti-Seize Compound to the washer face and to the threads of the locknuts before assembly.

1. Tighten the locknut 1 through locknut 4 in a numerical sequence to 54 ± 5 N·m (40 ± 4 lb ft).

2. Again,tighten the locknut 1 through locknut 4 in a numerical sequence to an additional 45 ± 5 degrees.

(2) Torque for the elbow ... 12.0 ± 1.5 N·m (105 ± 13 lb in)

(3) Torque for the compressor clamp assembly ... 13.6 ± 1.2 N·m (120 ± 11 lb in)

(4) Torque for the clamp assembly ... 13.6 ± 1.2 N·m (120 ± 11 lb in)

(6) Setting for the wastegate at 1.0 mm (0.04 inch) lift ... 144.8 ± 6.9 kPa (21.0 ± 1.0 psi)

(7) Torque for two clamp assemblies ... 12 ± 2 N·m (105 ± 18 lb in)
