Introduction
This issue affects 3500B and 3500C ADEM 3 engines that are used in Electric Power and Industrial applications. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Turbocharger outlet pressure trips the event for "High Boost Pressure" with absolute pressure rather than with gauge pressure. The default setting for this parameter within the Monitoring System in Cat ET is the OFF position. If this functionality is turned ON, be aware of this issue when the trip point is entered into the ECM.
Solution
In the interim, if the optional "High Boost Pressure" event is enabled, add 100 kPa (14.5 psi) to the desired trip level in order to account for atmospheric pressure.
