Some unique customer applications might require the ECM to be powered at all times.

Before the wiring change is performed, ensure that the generator set package is equipped with a properly sized battery charger. A battery charger must be installed on the generator set if the new wiring change is performed. The current configuration does not provide power to the ECM when the ECM is in the Auto or in the Off position. This control feature prevents unnecessary draining of the battery or additional load on the battery charger while the generator set is in standby mode.

Perform the following wiring changes within the control panel in order to provide constant power to the ECM.

  1. Locate the bottom terminal strip. The terminal points are numbered from right to left beginning with the number one.

  1. Locate terminal points 41,42, and 43. These terminal points are for the power link of the ECM.

  1. Remove the metal jumper between terminal points 41 and 42.

  1. Install a jumper wire between terminal points 41 and 43.

The ECM is now configured to be constantly powered ON.
