General Information (Power Train System)
The power train system is a closed-loop hydrostatic drive system. An engine-driven hydrostatic pump, pumps oil to a travel motor that is bolted to the transfer drive on the rear axle. Pressure from the pump turns the travel motor. The travel motor, in turn, turns the transfer drive. The transfer drive causes the rear axle to rotate and drives the drive shaft which causes the front axle to rotate. The axles transmit the rotational force to the final drives and out to the wheels for machine travel.
Both the pump and the motor are bi-directional, allowing the machine to travel forward and in reverse. Forward and reverse travel is controlled by the F-N-R switch on the joystick.
