New Digital Pyrometer Which Incorporates High Exhaust Temperature Alarm Now Used {1606,7412,7450,7466}

Usage:

3600 Family Of Engines

Description of Change: A new digital pyrometer is used in the instrument panel groups of the above engines. The new pyrometer gives a more accurate reading of the exhaust temperature than the former pyrometer. Additionally, a high exhaust gas temperature switch is incorporated.

Adaptable To: On in-line engines, the new 7C8980 Gauge (pyrometer) is a direct replacement for the former 3N7012 Pyrometer when used with the 7C9003 Front Plate and the 7C9220 Plug Assembly. Two 7C8980 Gauges (pyrometers) along with the 7C9003 Front Plate are required to replace the former 3N4416 Pyrometer on vee engines. The 7C9003 Front Plate is part of the instrument panel group. The 7C9003 Front Plate is required to accommodate the larger diameter face of the new pyrometer. The 7C9003 Front Plate is a direct replacement for the former 4W3036 Front Plate on in-line engines and the former 7W8360 Front Plate on vee engines. Refer to the illustration.

Mounting of the 7C8980 Gauge in the 7C9003 Front Plate with the 7C9220 Plug Assembly. In-line engine instrument panel group shown.

The new 7C9003 Front Plate does not include gauge name plates. Name plates can either be removed from the former front plate or new ones can be ordered. Refer to the chart for part number information.
