Troubleshooting Procedure for Seat Belt Retraction on Certain Wheel Loaders {7307, 7312, 7327}

Introduction

This Special Instruction provides troubleshooting procedures for seat belt retraction on certain Wheel loaders.

Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you have read the information and you understand the information.

Troubleshooting Procedure

For Web Twisting:

  1. Check for twisted web in front and rear windows of the housing.

  2. To clear a twist, push or pull the web to loosen it on the retractor spool.

  3. Side to side movement of the belt may also clear partial twist in the web.

For Reverse Lock:

  1. Check for reverse lock.

  2. Mount the belt in the seat belt housing.

  3. Pull the web forcefully to tighten it on the retractor spool, which allows more web to be wrapped on spool when it retracts.

  4. Slowly allow the web to retract back into the retractor housing.

For Orientation of Seat Belt Housing:

(A) 35 ± 5 degree

  1. Orient the seat belt housing to an angle of 35 ± 5 degree from vertical position for optimum operation.
