Reference: Refer to Service Magazine, "A New Undercarriage System Is Now Available For Certain D10 Track-Type Tractors" SEPD1963 for more information regarding the Heavy Duty Extended Life (HDXL) system for the D10.
New sprocket segments for the D9, D10, and D11 Track-Type Tractors are available. The New sprocket segments are compatible with PPR, non PPR, Tall Link ( D11 only), and the new Heavy Duty Extended Life (Dura Link) track. The new segments have larger bushing pocket diameters than the former parts and now include side scallops. The bolt pattern, mounting flange, and end faces of the segments have not changed. The hardware to mount the segments on the final drive and the torque remains the same as well. Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Sprocket Segment - Remove and Install" information in your machine manual for the proper installation and torque procedures. Dura Link track, which is now available on D10 and anticipated to be available in 2018 for the D9 and D11, uses a larger diameter bushing and therefore needs a segment with a bushing pocket to match. The new segments with the larger pockets are backward compatible with all track for these machines.
Note: The Sound Suppression Segments have not changed and are still available and compatible with all track. Refer to Table 1 for cross reference of the old and new segment part numbers.
Sales Model | New Segment Part Number | Former Segment Part Number | Sound Suppression Segment (Unchanged) |

(1) | 5 Tooth |
(2) | 6 Tooth |
Note: The D11 uses 1 piece of 5 tooth segment and 3 pieces of 6 tooth segment per final drive.
If your machine is not equipped with the new Dura Link track, the old and new segments will both work on the machine. Although not preferred, the old and new segments can be intermixed except on machines with Dura Link track.
Dura Link track MUST have the new segment or the old segment can be used if the segment is more than 20% worn.
Refer to Illustration 1 and Illustration 2 for the images of the old versus the new for reference.
